Where it all began - 2018 Ponderosa Little League mobile treat stand
I developed my talent of decorating cakes and making all kinds of baked things at a very young age, and constantly learning new skills at home around the kitchen. I started selling cupcakes, cookies, and other baked goods around the age 10 by walking around my little brother's soccer games and asking families of my brother’s teammates if they would like to help support my “small business” by buying a small treat.
After a few years, I started to make donuts. A couple of the guys in my small middle school class were joking about starting a bagel company, and it gave me the idea of starting my own donut business. I sat down one day and made a plan of how I would accomplish this goal, and made our first batches of donuts to bring to school. Everyone tried my donuts and gave their input, which I saw as a way to improve the quality of my work. I chose to persevere and to keep making and selling donuts, improving and changing recipes each time.
More and more people heard about my donuts and they started to ask about other treats and cakes for custom orders. My skill continued to develop over time and I began to see this talent as more than just a hobby and small business, but as possibly a very big part of my future. I now have made several custom cakes and delicacies for friends and family and I hope to expand my business to the greater community.
